You Are More Children’s Book Series
This Christian-based children’s book series shows that even ordinary kids with all the real life problems they encounter still have a royal identity and a divine purpose that God has given them.
Young children in our culture are surrounded by the princesses and the super heroes in their movies and backpacks and toothpaste and socks. In reality, God gives us his royal, superhero identity. He calls it his Royal Priesthood in the Bible. We are royal because we are kids of the King of kings, Jesus. God has also made us a priesthood, a people that share his unconditional, saving love with others.
I love how the identity and purpose of being God’s Royal Priesthood is shadowed in our modern-day themes of princesses and superheroes so I use that connection in You Are More.
You Are More When Listening Is Hard
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were able to obey God, even in it meant they were thrown in the fiery furnace because they knew he was always with them. Their obedience blessed many people. As Jesus tells kids the story in this book, he teaches them that obedience is a grateful response to God’s love for them. The death and resurrection of Jesus is Gods Super Power for children to obey, even in hard circumstances. Obeying God gives children opportunities to live out their purpose to love others and share their Friend and Savior Jesus with them.
Children learn that God’s love for them gives them the desire and the power to obey, even when it is hard.
You Are More When It’s Not Fair
Jesus tells kids who are enduring unfair circumstances, the story of Joseph. God had planned that the life of Joseph would be critical in saving God’s people and from that family line of Joseph’s father would come the Savior, Jesus. This story gives kids God’s truth that he is always with them and uses even unfair circumstances in their life to show them and others his saving love.
