Have Faith And Lean In To The Power Of Prayer

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. ROMANS 8:26-27

I remember a time that I was praying for someone in a very hard place but did not know any specifics. For a control freak like me, that was a lesson in this verse…. waking up in the night, praying through the day….for…what??? I didn’t know enough to pray specifically and this truth from God gave me so much peace. My heart cries were magnified by the Holy Spirit himself into groans that words cannot express.

Imagine a parent praying for their child not fully knowing what their experience and their heart feel or the future. And begging God for their very soul. The wonder of what God does with our concerns is beyond comprehension.

A Daily Prayer:
O Jesus, Thank you for knowing what we do not. Thank you for making our feeble attempts at prayer powerful groans in your heart. Thank you for loving us and those we pray for as we struggle in the darkness of ourselves and this world. Deliver us from sin. Give us power for hope from your love instead of giving in to the despair of our emotions. Amen.
