Show Your Children Transformation Through God's Mercy

In view of God’s mercy…

Do not conform to the pattern of this world,

but be transformed

by the renewing of your mind.

Romans 12:1-2

The world has a template of how it processes life and is an enemy to God and to us. It is so easy to conform to this world that we live in but are not of and live only for ourselves.  

God tells us to transform, not conform.

How do we change? By looking at his mercy for us. That is our power and our motivation to not go with the flow of this world.

When I think about my parenting, there were so many times I conformed when I should have been more diligent. Like when it came to what my children watched, read, or listened to, I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. Also, when it came to how I processed my own failures and disappointments, if I let fear and bitterness rule, my kids were affected by that. 

But even in all those times I failed, I have also seen the power of God’s Word and his Spirit to transform our family. It is a huge blessing to our children to be transformed in God’s paradigm of unconditional love. 

A Daily Prayer:
O Jesus, change my heart to be more like yours. Give my family comfort in the amazing mercy you have for every one of us. Help us to see the truth of what you say and give us the wisdom to be able to discern it from the luscious lies of this world. We are nothing without you. You are our very life. Amen
