How We Are Free Through Jesus

Jesus died to free us from shame and guilt.

Jesus died to free us from the fear of punishment because he suffered God’s punishment in our place.

Jesus died for us because he loves us with an unconditional, everlasting love.

He died because he wants to be with us now and forever.

We are free from the slavery of thinking we have to be good for him to love us.

We are free from the slavery of needing others to approve of us before we can be at peace.

We are free because his love, not his rules, is power and motivation for us to obey him.

We are free to have true joy without all our expectations being met.

We are free from living in the land of “what if”s because he is with us every minute of our lives.

We are free forever, because the Jesus who died for us rose three days later and gives us his victory over death!

We are free to love everyone because Jesus fills us with his love for them.

Dear Jesus, help me to live free today from your love, not for your love. Give me opportunities to share your freedom with the people in my life. Amen.
