Jesus Gives Real Relief

Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus: You are weary.

Me: I am. What?! How did you know?

Jesus: I know your thoughts before they are formed, I know your words before they are on your tongue (Psalm 139).

Me: Oh, oh.

Jesus: You are burdened.

Me: There’s so much uncertainty…stress…people hurting.

Jesus: Come to me.

Me: Do you really want me to come to you. You know my thoughts. You know I’m a mess.

Jesus: I am gentle.

And humble of heart.

Me: taking it in

Jesus: I will give you rest for your soul.

Me: How can that be?

Jesus: I rule over all powers, the ones you see and the ones you don't for your good. I love you so much that I died and rose to be with you forever. I give you my peace that the world cannot give.

Me: Wow! Thank you!

Jesus: Whatever happens today, know that I am always with you, now and forever. Amen.

Me: Amen.
