Live in the Victory Jesus Gave Us

The sting of death is sin, and the power of the sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:56-57

I loved enjoying Easter with our family virtually. The resurrection of Jesus is everything for us to celebrate, especially these days when death is always in our face. The truth of Jesus conquering death for us is not just a one-day event. It is an everyday reason for us to celebrate.

I love that we can raise our kids with the victory Jesus won for us by forgiving us instead of raising them by the sting of the law that condemns. Kids need rules and boundaries and consequences. But they need to know the victory so much more. Trusting Jesus not our own good works is what gives us eternal life.

I think our kids will always remember this time when the family sheltered at home for a while. They will remember the peace we have in Jesus, the victory we claim, even at the graveside of a loved one.

Thank you, Jesus, for giving us your victory over death. Enter our hearts with your true joy and peace. Teach us to trust and live in your victory even in scary days. Amen.
