Embracing The Comfort of God's Absolute Truth

…he fell with his face to the ground and prayed,

“My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.

Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Matthew 26:39

Jesus knows what it is like to be afraid. He threw himself on the ground. He sweated tears of blood. The horrific immensity of what he had to do to save us filled him with sorrow to the point of death.

How could Jesus willingly lay down his life for us?

How could he take the punishment on the cross of separation from his Father in our place?

He did it to honor his Father. To submit to his Father’s will. Jesus did the unimaginable to redeem you and me.

You are worth it to Jesus for him to have gone through it.

Not because you deserve it but because he loves you that much.

Yes.

You.

It doesn’t matter how much others like you when you are perfectly loved by Jesus!

This is the truth that our children need to hear often and without condition. It is the Gospel that keeps them safe in a world that wants them apart from life forever with God.

A Daily Prayer:
Dear Jesus, when I grow afraid, comfort me with the absolute truth that you endured hell in my place so I can be with you forever. Allow me the opportunities to see what you have given me today and to share this objective truth with my family and friends. Amen.
