Share The Promise Of Jesus With Your Children All Year Long

JESUS IS COMING!

Wonder seems to fill children’s eyes as they help decorate a Christmas tree. Their excitement is so precious as they look forward to the gifts that will soon be under the tree. While the tree gets taken down and the opened gifts are soon forgotten, there is a wonder and excitement we have at Christmas that is not temporary. 

It is the wonder that God sent his promised Savior Son to the world that he loves so much. Jesus wants our children to know that he has given them the gift of salvation and life forever with him. 

We also have the excitement that Jesus is coming again – soon. Waiting for Christmas is a time God wants us to teach our children to eagerly wait for the day he will come again to take us from the stress and sickness of our sin to the bliss of life with him forever in heaven.

AT HOME WITH JESUS

As you look forward to Christmas together as a family this year, talk about who Jesus is. Talk about why he came to this earth and the truth that he is coming again soon. Here are some verses you can use as conversation starters:

Jesus has come to save us!:   For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

Jesus will come again to bring us to heaven to live with him forever!: “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”  Acts 1:11
