Rejoice In Your Child's Spirit

God comes to families living in a world that is full of events that make us afraid. He comes to families who struggle with the hurt they cause each other.

God gives us his spirit of sonship. By his Spirit and his Words, we know that the Creator, the Ruler over all powers seen and unseen, is our Abba Father! 

When we are afraid, the Spirit tells us we can turn to God as our Abba Father—our Daddy. God’s Spirit even cries with our spirit when we cry out to God.

In all the instability of the world we live in, and in the hurts we cause each other in our families, God is our Father. He is our stability.

He gave up his own Son on the cross to take the punishment for what makes us the most afraid: our sin.

There is nothing that is too big for God to forgive. There is no hurt that has been done to us that is not seen by God. 

A Daily Prayer:
Our Father, thank you for the faithful mercy you show us that we can scramble to you like frightened little children in a thunderstorm. Help us find opportunities and ways to share this truth with our children. Remind us to turn to you first when we are afraid instead of trying to control everything as if we were you. We are sorry for doubting you so often, and thank you for your forgiveness that covers every one of our sins. Amen.
