Embrace God's Choosing In YOU!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world 

to be joy and blameless in his sight.

In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely give us in the One he loves.       Ephesians 1:3-6

I remember how much I loved elementary school dodge ball but dreaded the process of choosing teams. It seemed I was always in the group of players left over at the end. I can still remember how that felt all these years later. It makes me wonder how many kids grow up feeling that from time to time.  We are born thinking we have to work to be accepted and loved but God gives us his truth that says just the opposite.

God says he chose us to be his before he even created the world!  I am not God’s kid because I deserve it or chose to be. He says while we were yet dead, he made us alive in Christ. A corpse cannot make a decision or action. By God’s grace alone we are his children. What a comforting truth, especially on those days when we fail God and each other.

A Daily Prayer:
O Jesus, fill me with your Spirit and your love for my children to teach them your love and truth from your Words in the Bible. Help me to remember to tell them that even when I fail to love them, you never do. Amen.
