Let the Truth Of Jesus' Presence Teach Us Faith And Remove Our Fear

I don’t know about you, but these days fear is becoming a familiar feeling. There seems to be so much in our world that threatens our families that we really have no control over. It seems to be easier said than done to not be afraid.

But Jesus opens his heart and his arms and tells me:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

He knows the uncertainty and fears each one of us has for ourselves and our family. He knows the guilt and shame we hide deep inside. He knows the anger we feel at severe injustices. He takes our burdens and gives us rest from feeling like we have to be God, because we are not. Rest from thinking we have to control everything and make all the bad go away. Rest from thinking we have to work to love others and God so they will love us.

Jesus took all those burdens to the cross and died to take the punishment each one of us deserves. He died and rose for us so he can be with us!

What an amazing truth that while we endure the great tribulation of life on this side of heaven, we are with the One True God who created us, who stilled the storm and raised Lazarus from the dead. What a precious gift is the faith he has given us to believe in Jesus as our Savior!

The best thing we can do as parents is to let him talk to our children through his Words.  Read verses like this, read Bible stories and see how God acts to save us. Share his promises and the truth that he is always with them now and forever. Talk to Jesus together in prayer and give him all the worries and fears that burden our hearts.

A Daily Prayer:
O Jesus, you know the fears that weigh us down. Thank you for the truth that you are with us and we are with you every step of the way until you take us home to Heaven.  Amen.
